REVVING IT UP
Offshore Dreams, impressive winner of the Prix D’Amerique
is still another outstanding son of International winner
Reve D’Udon, sire also of the Internationally celebrated
and Perretti Farms stallion REVENUE.
And like his paternal half brother, Offshore Dreams descends
from classic American maternal bloodlines with his third
dam being Seascape Lobell a full sister to Speedy Somolli.
Speedy Somolli also shows up as the sire of the dam’s
sire Tarass Boulba aligning foundation dam Somolli in a
3x4 position maternally.
Revenue as has been documented here before is strictly
American on his maternal side tracing back to the immortal
Scotch Love, dam of Speedy Crown and Arnie Almahurst’s
sire Speedy Scot.
Just think future Prix D’Amerique winners can be
manufactured right here via REVENUE.
JOY TO THE WORLD
It’s time to ROCKNROLL
Our first Rocknroll Hanover baby has hit the ground and
she’s a sturdy filly indeed from Joyeaux, the Artsplace
sister to the super fast Quik Pulse Mindale p,3,1:48, he
now a Pennsylvania stallion.
And at first glance the resemblance to the sire Rocknroll
Hanover is indeed noticeable!
COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION
Whereas it is understandable the differentials between perceptions
and actualities, those in the service business are acutely
aware how often the perceptions will supercede actualities
in the court of public opinion.
It matters less whether an alleged offense was actually
committed if court of public opinion perceives that it was
and proceeds to act accordingly.
Which could be the failure of an ostensibly eligible candidate
to make the “hall of fame” due to the perception
that eligibility standards were obtained and/or enhanced
via artificial and/or illegal substances.
Conversely there will be those who will no longer frequent
certain stores due to the perception that indicted wrongdoers
received mere wrist slaps regardless of the ultimate ramification
and severity of the infractions. To the court of public
opinion, this is often the conclusion when reduced penalties
exchanged for time saving plea bargains leave the original
issue in a pool of semantic ambiguity.
The problem is these court of public opinion perceptions
tend to linger long after the actual incident has been swept
under the proverbial rug-which mandates a significant percentage
of the customer base never to return to the store.
Therefore it would appear that those stores dependant on
public patronization would be more sensitive to court of
public opinion sentiments and act accordingly.
JERSEY BREDS EXCELL
Statistically speaking the Jersey breds again excelled in
the all important earnings category. This may not have been
totally reflected in the yearling sales as many of those
from slots infused locales did bring noticeable bidding
numbers.
However, the top pair of freshman pacing colts-earnings
wise were indeed Yankee Skyscaper and Artzina both by Artiscape
and with Laughing Art placing 7th, New Jersey led with three
listings among the top 10 money winners. There were also
three New Jersey bred fillies among the top 10 money winners
tying the Garden State with Ontario for those honors.
No less than five of the top ten money winning 3-year-old
pacing colts were New Jersey Sired. Among them were Artistic
Fella, Feelin Friskie, Armbro Deuce, Shark Gesture 2,nd,
3rd, 4th and 5th respectively and the 8th ranked Western
Ace. Collectively the glamour boy quintet earned in excess
of $3.3 million in 2006.
In addition the leading candidates for HOY (Horse of The
Year) are the Jersey Sired trotters Glidemaster and Passionate
Glide.
In other words the Jersey breds continue to EARN huge regardless
of what some may actually cost!
