Set ‘em up Joe.
Got a little story you ought to know.
Drinking my friend to EXTEND a great episode.
Make it one for ME AND MY BABY.
And the reunification of the Sweetheart tandem
John Campbell and Bruce Nickells.
And a few more down the road.

Absolutely magical to see the tandem responsible for so many Sweetheart memories Miss Easy, Immortality, Freedoms Friend and all the rest back in harmony as Me And My Baby (Artiscape-My Baby And Me) powered home for Messer’s Campbell and Nickells in the $175,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes final at The Meadowlands.

Me And My Baby is the first foal from My Baby And Me a Presidential Ball daughter of Lexington Bound originally purchased for $12,000 from the 1998 Perretti Farms Harrisburg consignment by Bruce Nickells for long time owner Glenby Farms. Originally named Kentucky Wildmatt, My Baby And Me paced in 1:51.3 at 5 and earned $238,746 for Glenby Farms.

Cousin Bruce also harbored a Sierra Kosmos filly that no one else wanted and actually got her to the races. Moreover, when he turned her back in for a credit it was to the tune of “this one’s got ability don’t let her go”.

After the filly named Queen Of Queens produced Queen Victorian, Maldictorian, the half million plus earner MUSCLE KING and this season’s sensational QUEEN SERENE, we’re glad we listened.

Queen Of Queens will consign SULTAN OF SQUAT the Muscles Yankee brother to Muscle King and Queen Serene as part of our boutique consignment to the Lexington Selected Sale.

Good buddy Dave Palone aka the Palone Ranger notched win # 11,000 at Pocono with Gel Mibson in the Reynolds Memorial. Actually thought he had it the race before with Isabella Blue Chip but the picture proved otherwise.

Was that a BELLVIS sighting, (Hi Myron) pinch hitting for the Commissioner Scotty Tickets extending winners circle plaudits to the Ranger on the milestone victory?

Don’t know how he does it but “The Commissioner” was indeed the source to go to for accurate racing updates during the budgetary unpleasantness last week.

Those in charge of that category might look to Jeff Gural implementer of Tioga Downs and resuscitator of Vernon Downs and an obvious friend of those all seek racing integrity.

First the Tioga security team nailed some suspicious activity in a rest stop near the track and then lo and behold observed that an obvious beard in fact resided with the banished trainer.

Duh who says a little sanitizing is impossible?

Loved the erudite presentation by Dave Liker in this week’s Horseman pertaining to the influence of inside information.

Well documented and touches a nerve far more prominent than some would choose to believe.

The bottom line is that as long as handle is the primary engine for purses those providing that handle must feel good about what they’re doing.
