UNITED NATIONS WEEK
This week’s edition of Trotline will be somewhat abbreviated
as once again its United Nations week here at Perretti Farms
as we’ll be hosting a number of European visitors
here in New Jersey for the various events associated with
Hambletonian week. .Once again its great to see folks from
Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy, France etc many of whom
have evolved into friends.
CHIPS FELL WHERE THEY SHOULD
It was Muscle Chips (Muscles Yankee-Perons Chip in the Hanover
stake for 2-year-old trotting fillies certainly no surprise
to her astute owners Neil Goldman and Charlie Norris who
researched how she was altogether different than her older
brother in the yearling videos at Harrisburg.
Unlike the brother who’s finally coming around as
a 3-year-old this season, Muscle Chips was an absolute natural
in the field and looks rather natural on the track as well.
Good luck guys.
A BLUE MAC LAD
Yes Tom Faulhaber! Was indeed remembering Stanley’s
trotting immortal Su Mac Lad when naming the 03 edition
of Vernon Blue Chip who became Peter Haughton memorial favorite
BLUE MAC LAD (Muscles Yankee) who by the looks of things
is as good a 2-year-old trotter as we’ve seen anywhere
this year. Guess we’ll have to call one of Red River
Hanover colts MISTER RED! Can’t be the colt from Doc’s
Girl as DOC HOLLOWAY has been promised to Joe!
A TRUE FORCE
Yes that was Commissioner Scotty Tickets’ “discovery”
coming home in :26 to nail that qualifier in 1:50.4 True
Force is obviously the best Falcon Seelster to hit these
parts since McArdle and actually was conceived right here
being out of former Perretti Farms mare Kravis Center an
Artsplace daughter of the well remembered Hit Parade. Kravis
Center was sold in the semi dispersal carrying True Force
at Harrisburg in 2001 or else the colt would have undoubtedly
been part of our The Garden State Sale consignment in 2003.
We sold his Matt’s Scooter brother Mr Matturday Night
there the year before and he’s evolved into a fast
class race type.
Had to notice this Artiscape filly KNOCK YOURSELF OUT charging
home in 1:55.1 and got a tad curious about her Keystone
Andy dam Cash The Tickets seeing as how Keystone Andy was
a real favorite around Roosevelt and Yonkers in the early
70’s for Lester Pullen.
Lo and behold USTA’s Pathway discloses that CASH
THE TICKET is one of the true unsung great broodmares who
just does her thing year after year in virtual oblivion
though her production record is remarkable.
A foal of 1982, Cash The Tickets has had 12 foals to Distant
Thunder, Jaguar Spur, Beach Towel, Jennas Beach Boy and
now Artiscape. Everyone has raced and won with her 99 foal
A Touch Of Cash being the fastest at 1:50 and her 92 foal
Dynamike being the richest with $521,909 on his card. And
get this in calendar year 2005 no less than of six of her
12 offspring are actively racing. And the latest one may
well be SWEETHEART BOUND having started in the eliminations
Cash The Ticket is by Keystone Andy (Thorpe Hanover-Adioland)
from Special Mig by Special Dream the first Adios Butler
from the productive Dream Lady, dam also of Honest Story
Hats off to a very special broodmare!
Authoritative win by Mr. Muscleman in the Classic covering
one and one sixteenth miles in 1:58.4 off a 1:51.3 mile.
Heard some talk about matching Mr. Muscleman and Norwegian
champion Steinlager in Norway this fall-which should be
great if it can happen. The Muscleman is now10 for 11 on
the year and next goes in the Nat Ray on Hambletonian day.
Unless we miscounted Muscles Yankee will have three in
the Hambletonian this year including our own MUSCLE MEMORY
(Peace Be With You), MUSCLE BOUND (Habit) and SMOOTH YANKEE
(So So Chic)
