ROCKNROLL 1-2

Rocknroll Hanover colts A ROCKNROLL DANCE and PET ROCK finished 1-2 in the $600,000 Meadowlands Pace on Saturday night as the sire Rocknroll Hanover increased his all age earnings lead to nearly $1 million.

In all four of the 10 Meadowlands Pace finalists were sons of Rocknroll Hanover.

A MUSCLE STAR

In the Stanley Dancer memorial, the Muscles Yankee colt LITTLE BROWN FOX (Malvictorian) blew his field away in 1:51.2 winning by open lengths.  Trained by Hall Of Famer Jimmy Takter, Little Brown Fox thus becomes one of the prime contenders to next month’s Hambletonian Classic.  If successful, Little Brown Fox would join Muscle Hiil, Muscle Mass and Deweycheatumnhowe as Muscles Yankee Hambletonian champions.

McARDLE
MAKING HIS MARK IN PENNSYLVANIA

A check of recent results discloses that the leading point getter amongst 3-year-old Pennsylvania Sires Stake colts is none other than McArdle own McERLEAN  p,3,1:50.1f from Igottwowordsforyou
Among the fastest is McArdle’s own  Bakin On The Beach p.3.1:49.f4 from Elizabeth Street.

With both McErlean and Bakin On The Beach  active in the Hempt Memorial eliminations at Pocono on Saturday, it’s entirely possible those marks could be lowered.

Other recent McArdle winners include Awesome G p,1:53.3 (Armbro Bianca). I Like Dreamin p,3,1:51.2f (I’m Not Dreamin), McSauna p,3,1:52.2 (Steamy Place). Lucky McTrucky  p,3,1:57.4h (Truculent Lady), McNickels McDimes p,3,1:57.3h (Diamonique Mindale), Scotty McTickets  p,3,1:56.1f(Artchitecture) and So Easy Baby p,3,1:53.2f (So Easy)

ROCK N ROLL COLTS COME BACK STRONG

With the stakes season just getting underway, it looks like the anticipated strong showings by the Rocknroll Hanover younger set will indeed take place as already Pet Rock, A Rocknroll Dance, Time To Roll and Rockaround Sue have impressive victories.

Of those, Pet Rock (Casual Beauty) , annexed the Art Rooney at Yonkers  while A Rocknroll Dance (Wichita Hanover)  and Time To Roll (Kikikatie) were both New Jersey Sire Stakes winners.

Time To Roll meanwhile was a furious closing second in last week’s North American cup elimination and prior to that made it one two three for the Rocknroll Hanover’s in the New Jersey Sires Stakes final edging A Rocknroll Dance and the fast closing Simply Business. The latter from Cathedra Dot Com was the winner of last year’s rich Metro stakes at Mohawk.

In all, four of the 10 finalists for the North American Cup are by Rocknroll Hanover.

The older set keep rolling along also.  Early season star Special T Rocks (Ladys Special Girl) was a superb first over runner-up Dan Patch at Hoosier while Blue Chip Matchmaker  winner ROCKLAMATION (Art Sale) was a fast closing second in last week’s Artiscape stake at Tioga Downs.

At present Rocknroll Hanover leads all pacing sires in the category of all age money earnings by over $600,000.

It should be noted his oldest foals are but 5-years-old.

With the 2-year-old season just getting underway we’ll keep tabs on how the youngsters are faring.

You can still book to Rocknroll Hanover but better hurry as the breeding season is on the wane.
