SUNSHINE SALE
The Catalog for the South Florida sales company’s SUNSHINE SALE contains a number of intriguing prospects including four of our own -they being REAL DEJAVU (Real Desire-Once Again), CAMBALAYA (Cams Card Shark-Paris Bistro), SOUTH BEACH TOY (Dream Vacation-Nina Toy Eden) and IN THE GYM (Muscles Yankee-Where’s The Bride).

The trotters can be seen at Bruce Nickells’ barn at Sunshine Meadows while Gary Baker is prepping the pacers at South Florida. Real Dejavu represents an opportunity to obtain a choice filly from the first crop of $3 million + winner Real Desire. The dam Once Again is a sister to Dragon Again whose first two foals have made the races. Real Dejavu was a good moving filly when we had her.

Cambalaya is a Cam’s Card Shark sister to a colt we sold last year named NINETYONE HAWKS. He was a very big yearling who probably needed time to come into himself. This filly has shown well thus far.

The veteran Mr. Nickells who should be in the hall of fame if he’s not already, has glowingly spoken about SOUTH BEACH TOY and with good reason. She’s by the highly successful Dream Vacation from Nina Toy Eden a mare with a virtual barn full of black type credits. The colt IN THE GYM is the first Muscles Yankee from a Sierra Kosmos daughter of Duenna. So its not surprising he can trot some at this early stage.

They sell SUNDAY JANUARY 29 at THE SOUTH FLORIDA TROTTING CENTER

FIRST THINGS FIRST
No sooner is the holiday history and thoughts turn to a pair of significant FIRSTS expected in the near future. .

For openers there’s the anxiously anticipated FIRST FOALS of Triple Crown champion Windsongs Legacy and International champion Revenue and we’ll also be preparing the anticipated FIRST crops from the recent pacing greats McArdle and Red River Hanover for the fall sales later on.

Our first little Windsong will be either a brother or sister to the Jimmy Takter’s rugged MUSCLE MEMORY from Peace Be With You while the first Revenue will likely a colt or filly from the well bred Eject (Super Bowl-Classic Cassette).

McArdle names to remember could be THE McDONALD (Born To Be Best), GENERAL McARDLE (Armbro Terrace), LOCH McNESS (Loch Laggin), EMPTY McPOCKETS (Insolvency) and OLD McARDLE probably the nicest Nadia Lobell in years.

Red River prospects include OLD RED RIVER (Art Sale), MISTER RED (Paula’s Promise), DOC HOLLOWAY (Doc’s Girl), COMBAT REDDY (Lady JBB) CINCINATTI RED ROSE (Odds On JP) and a brother to Brandon’s Cowboy named RED SEA SCROLLS from Angel be Good.

We’ll have more about the McArdle’s and Red River’s as they progress.

CONGRATULATIONS SAMMY& JEFF
Heartfelt congratulations to Sam McKee on his Hervey Award for Broadcast excellence and to our partner and OWNER OF THE YEAR Jeff Snyder. Both are worthy recipients as are all of the other nominees.

HEY USTA
Vivid Photo, Peaceful Way, Strong Yankee and Chocolatier are indeed appropriate candidates for trotter of the year honors but what about Mr. Muscleman? Seems the dominant aged trotter would be worthy of consideration as well.

MEADOWLANDS HANDLE
Great to read on all the websites that NJSEA tracks (Meadowlands and Monmouth) handled $1.345 billion in all of which $485 million was wagered on track at The Big M.

Would be even better to read the actual breakdowns as to
How much live harness?
How much incoming harness?
How much live thoroughbreds?
How much incoming thoroughbreds?
How much live Monmouth?
How much incoming thoroughbreds Monmouth?
How much incoming harness Monmouth?
