ETERNAL REVENUE
If there was a universal ‘theme” amongst the
many European visitors here for the Hambletonian that we
hosted at the farm during our version of “United Nations
Week” it had to do with Revenue and the American acceptance
of a French sired stallion.
Almost unanimously they were delighted to learn that the
horse had serviced some 170 mares in his initial season
and that he will get an opportunity to positively impact
on the existing “gene” pool in the U. S. And
if successful as many believe he will be, Revenue could
be a forerunner for other European stallions to stand here.
Revenue attracted a good number of Valley Victory line
mares in his initial breeding season.
CONGRATUALTIONS MISS WISCONSIN
A prophecy by trotting “guru” Ron Gurfein has
come to pass. All along Gurfein insisted that the Muscles
Yankee filly was indeed a “good one” and after
winning The Merrie Annabelle, Gurf’s confidence was
indeed justified.
GARDEN STATE YEARLINGS
Over the years we’ve sold some pretty nice horses
at Garden State Sales Company’s Showplace sale and
with this year’s edition moved to the Horse Park of
New Jersey, this trend should well continue.
Last year’s consignment featured MATTIOS, the Matt’s
Scooter 2-year-old who on the New Jersey Sires Stakes final
in 1:54.3 earlier this year. The hammer price on MATTIOS
was just $19,000 and she’s already earned over $118,000
this year. That group also included COLOR SCHEMES 2, 1:59.2
(Dream Vacation-Paisley Yankee) who despite a hammer price
of $2,300 is already a DOUBLE stakes winner at two this
year with earnings approaching $35,000. And the Ontario
Gold earner GREAT BALLDINI (Presidential Ball-Grin n Buy
It) has already won in 1:54.1 at two this year. His price
was $4,500 last year.
The 2002 crop featured MALTESE ARTIST an Artiscape colt
from Hula Dancer who brought $47,000 late in the sale. Maltese
Artist is now approaching $600,000 in earnings and has a
1:48.3 mark taken this year. That group also included MR
MATTURDAY NIGHT (Matt’s Scooter-Kravis Center) a $15,000
yearling who has been in 1:51.4f already this year. Undoubtedly
his Falcon Seelster half brother True Force p,3,1:50.3 would
have graced our 2003 Jersey Classic consignment had he not
been in-utero at the time the dam was sold as part of the
2001 dispersal
A few others we’ve sent through the ring at The Garden
State Sale include Sweet Lady Lee p, 1:51.1 (Presidential
Ball-Paper Sweetness) Western Canada Pacing Derby winner
In Arms Way (On The Road Again-Disarmament, a quarter million
dollar plus winner, Lawrence B Sheppard winner Presidentialantics
p,2,1:56.2h (Presidential Ball-Bunny Antics) NJSS winner
Falcatraz p,3,1:52 (Falcon Seelster-Village Connie)
This year’s GARDEN STATE SALE offering numbers 17

The trotters are by either first crop success story Dream
Vacation or the established Enjoy Lavec. The pacers include
Artiscapes like Maltese Artist, Matt’s Scooters like
Mattios and one by Life Sign sire of Real Desire etc. The
Life Sign colt is from Graylin Grape dam of a 05 2-year-old
by Pro Bono Best who’s been timed in 2:00.3 already
this year. The dam is a sister to the hard hitting Pedone
p,4,1:50.1
Featured Artiscapes could be ART HEARTED (R G Hannah) the
first foal from a sister to Noble Intent p,1:50.2. Also

the immediate family of Life Challenger, Gold Coast and
Excited.
Then there’s TASHABLANCA the first Dream Vacation
sister to the stakes placed 05 Enjoy Lavec filly Tahitien
Treat.
Promises to be another representative group.
In addition, some rather distinguished mares will offer
foals in The Garden State sale. Miss Easy has a Cams Card
Shark filly. Armbro Feather has an Island Fantasy filly.
Pacific has a Blissful Hall filly and grand ole Saccharum
has a filly by Cams Card Shark. Need more reason to be at
the Horse Park on September 11th?.
