Last we heard they were still enamoured with Lady Of The Sea’s Matt’s Scooter 2-year-old now named LeBanjes Best purchased at the South Florida Sunshine Sale.

Speaking of Red River Hanover Jeff Snyder your former race filly Paula’s Promise just dropped a real nice colt by Rock N Roll Hanover’s three quarter brother. Didn’t see Rock N Roll’s reported :25.4 last quarter schooler though did see his impressive debut qualifier. Rock N Roll and Village Jolt are bound for the upcoming New Jersey Sires Stakes and New Jersey Classic. The Red River Hanover foals are impressive thus far..

Hey NORTHFIELD PARK. Real Artist is an excellent stallion but he’s not the sire of Battle Of Lake Erie headliner and USTA’s horse of the month for April Maltese Artist. That one like his full brother Artesian is by Artiscape and one of two sub 1:50 performers for the dam Hula Dancer.

We’ll also post the memorable world championship performance of McArdle’s sire Falcon Seelster at the Delaware Fairgrounds. And with it another all time great racecall by the equally incomparable Roger Huston!

Extend plaudits for Jack Rice’s grandstand view in the April Hoofbeats. It’s a must read and one we unconditionally endorse especially the segment about cleaning up our own act. Jack’s comments about ‘beards” or family members subbing for suspended trainers is also right on target. Like he says, the fans are not exactly naïve about what transpires in that area. Maybe that’s why we have fewer fans as the years pass.

One irony is that in other sports it’s necessary to win in the regular season in order to make the playoffs. We don’t have that. The problem is to the player his individual transaction is all there is. Next week doesn’t count. Therefore when serious prospects who really do lay over overnight fields appear to be prepping for later on it leaves a bad taste to those in attendance that night.

And get this. Now there’s been discussion in the Swedish media about the Mr. Muscleman-Elitlopp scenario as apparently others are wondering why the horse got punished along with the trainer considering the horse was not involved in the incident.. Perhaps the invitation could be extended to Mr. Muscleman’s owner Adam Victor with the understanding that any accompanying trainer would have to have a clean slate.

Stonebridge Regal (Artsplace-Lady Joanna) is not the only sub 1:50 performer form the dam. She had a Life Sign named Lease On Life who scorched The Meadowlands one night in an eyecatching 1:48.1. Stonebridge Regal looks like a colt to be reckoned with.

Mattaroni just dropped a gorgeous Western Hanover full sister to Armbro Bombay. That one impressed in last year’s Jugette and just qualified a The Meadowlands. Among our other notable foalings last week was a very nice Artplace colt from Western Wizard she a Western Hanover from the fast and productive Lady Genius.

Just got TROT’s State Of The Industry special edition and will read it thoroughly. Got a feeling it will not be a blanket endorsement for the status quo and that alone will be positive. We’ll discuss it next week.
