Welcome to TROTLINE the Perretti Farms news page which will become a weekly and sometimes twice weekly feature of this website…

First McARDLES have hit the ground

The first foals by the brilliant McArdle have hit the ground and they are showcase individuals. The colt from Born To Be Best is a grand individual who looks just like his sire. Born To Be Best is a full sister to the noted Cammibest. p,1:50.1 ($1,071,775)… Then there’s the gorgeous filly from Armbro Terrace p,2, 1:55 who really caught the eye of our vet Dr. Peter Boyce…

Got a coupla Red River’s and they’re impressive also.. The filly from Steamy Place (Artsplace-Summer Child) could be one to cite for future reference… Ditto the colt from Plant A Kiss (Blissful Hall-Orchid Island) Can’t wait to see the Red Rivers from Doc’s Girl and Paulas Promise, both of whom sold six figure yearlings at Harrisburg last year.. They being West Side Glory by Western Ideal and Pacey Deucey by Cams Card Shark.
Both Doc’s Girl and Paulas Promise are booked to Cams Card Shark this year.

OTHER NOTABLE FOALINGS

Among the other notable foalings at Perretti Farms include Muscles Yankee colts from high powered Pine Chip mares like My Starchip 3,1:54.2 ($376,069) and Graceful Touch 2,1:56.1 ($168,127). My Starchip a well remembered stakes filly beat the boys in the Zweig memorial at Vernon Downs some years back. While Graceful Touch is the only filly ever from the noted Act Of Grace and a stakes winning full sister to World Trotting Derby winner Cobol.

Grand ole Angel Be Good (Abercrombie-I’m No Angel) is enjoying another stellar season thus far with daughter Odds On Charmaine (Western Hanover) and son Brandons Cowboy (The Panderosa) currently in fast class action at The Meadowlands… Angel’s latest a handsome colt named In Good Hands is from the anticipated first crop of Aces N Sevens. He’ll be sold at Harrisburg later this fall… Angel may have been a few shades
below stablemate Nadia Lobell on the racetrack but she seems to have the edge in the breeding shed.. Then again her dam IS a sister to Leah Almahurst

Congratulations to “King” George Anthony for winning The Cape And Cutter final at The Big M last week though if our alumni Artbitration (Artiscape-Serious Smile) got free a little earlier…. Well you never know… Mark Harder is doing a great job with Mohammed Mali the Malabar Man brother to recently retired Scarlet Knight from Ruby Crown. Mohammed Mali impressed in the Horse And Groom series winning handily in 1:53.4… Ruby Crown will next offer a three quarter brother to Scarlet Knight by Enjoy Lavec named Redneck Lavec… And she’ll foal a Muscles Yankee later this Spring…
Good to see full brothers Artesian and Maltese Artist (Artiscape-Hula Dancer) winning legs of the Isle Of Capri at Pompano… Yeah Sammy De Pinto… I know you shoulda had both of ‘em…

Often wondered if folks really fathom the depth of the New Jersey Standardbred Racing program which is so much more than “just” the Sires Stakes…
The program also includes such venues as The SBOA New Jersey Classic… and Miss New Jersey… The Lou Babics… The Harold Dancer.. Helen Dancer… Charles Smith… Helen Smith… New Jersey Futurities… Green Acres plus the season long overnight program for New Jersey owned or sired horses.

Don’t forget how the Spring editions of The New Jersey Sires Stakes often serve as STEPPING STONES to lucrative Meadowlands classics like The Hambletonian, Meadowlands Pace, Woodrow Wilson, Sweetheart etc…. Bottom line here is you gotta be New Jersey sired…

Also wonder if the other powers that be in the State Capitol are truly aware of the following realities.. As our great Governor Codey so obviously is…

WHEREAS the Breeders Cup appearance at Monmouth Park in 2007 will be a classic spectacle and a great honor for the State of New Jersey the underlying reality is that the odds of any of those thoroughbred starters being bred, foaled or raised in New Jersey are rather remote.

WHEREAS The Haskell Memorial at Monmouth Park is indeed the glorious highlight of the New Jersey thoroughbred racing season the chances are that not one of the Haskell starters will have been bred, foaled or raised in New Jersey.

WHEREAS the Breeders Crown an annual fixture at The Meadowlands ALWAYS includes a substantial percentage starters bred foaled and raised in New Jersey.

WHEREAS The Hambletonian at The Meadowlands indeed the highlight of the New Jersey standardbred racing season always includes substantial numbers of starters bred, foaled and raised in New Jersey

THEREFORE it should be noted that subsidy monies allocated to New Jersey racetracks positively impact the New Jersey standardbred industry as it enables the EXISTING standardbred farms to maintain and increase green acreage and compete at the top levels for quality breeding stock needed to ensure that The Hambletonian and Breeders Crown always includes substantial numbers of homegrown participants.

THUS a healthy standardbred breeding industry remains a vital source of employment and revenue for local workers, vendors and independent contractors significantly enhancing the economic climate for the state of New Jersey.

WHILE stallion books on Windsongs Legacy and Muscles Yankee have filled, booking remain available to Revenue, Dream Vacation, McArdle, Red River Hanover, Artiscape, and Matt’s Scooter..

Among the anticipated foalings this month will be the Western Hanovers from Mattaroni p,3,1:52.3 and Roman Art. p,3, 1:52.2. The latter is from the immediate family of Art Major and Worldly Beauty while Sweetheart winner Mattaroni will deliver a brother or sister to her formidable daughter Armbro Bombay.

Both Mattaroni and Roman Art will consign Western Ideal colts to Harrisburg in November they being Dimattgio (Mattaroni) and Artriverderci (Roman Art)…

Heard lots of Florida talk about Wildwood Days (Dream Vacation-Flash Of Dignity) which is not surprising… The mare has a heck of an Enjoy Lavec in Joyardee . In addition, Dream Vacation has every right to throw speed… They were well received in the Sunshine State horses in training sale last month suggesting that they’ve broken well and are acting good thus far… Good luck with him Jack Parker….

Hey Frank Antonacci… They like Plan On It (Bettors Delight-Best Laid Plans) more with each trip… And Mr. Dave Palone aka The Palone Ranger… They like your namesake thus far…

The first mare bred to Windsong’s Legacy was Repetitions who being a Muscles Yankee from Echo Hanover might be as good bred a first mare as any first crop stallion has seen… Repetitions was injured in pasture and never trained…Just like Pizza Dolce’s mom Peace A Pie…

Got four Artsplaces to sell this year and they’re all fillies…. There’s ART TO HEART from Because I Said So, MERCULESE from Mercy Mercy Mercy, VAIN IN SPAIN from Open Plains and OZMOPOLITAN from Western Wizard…

I know Real Desire has some hellish prospects this year but Modern Art’s brother Modern Desire from Wendy M Hanover will give any of ‘em a run for the money…. Haven’t seen him lately but they tell me you’ll like ECHOLOGICAL The Muscles Yankee colt from Echo Hanover. Her first foal Repetitions mentioned above never had a chance being pasture injured.

See ya next week
